Job Position: Business Intelligence & Reporting Analyst
Job Location: Lagos

The Role


  • Take ownership of daily, weekly and monthly reporting procedures vital to the day to day running of the bank in a timely, accurate manner
  • Use analytical techniques in Excel and BI Tools (Power BI/Jaspersoft) to generate reports, data requests and adhoc analyses to provide insight into key portfolios and segment trends
  • Automate reporting where possible to ensure up to the minute information is available across the business
  • Work with existing analytics team to present findings to senior stakeholders in a clear and concise manner
  • Work across the business attending to the BI requirements of managers from every department
  • Achieve 100% accuracy in all reporting
  • Performing reconciliation and validation routines

Skills and Experience
Must have:

  • Strong academic background with minimum classification of 2:1 in a highly numerate, Scientific or Computer Science discipline (i.e. Economics, Mathematics, Finance, Physics, or related subjects) which must have quantitative units studied at undergraduate level
  • Excellent communication skills to be able to understand business requirements and turn them into reports
  • Excellent working knowledge of all Microsoft Office Products, (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Experience using SQL to extract data from databases
  • Experience of using Excel to summarise data
  • An extremely keen eye for detail – 100% accuracy is the expectation
  • Evidence of maintaining, automating and creating new reports
  • Good communication skills with the ability to express technical ideas to a nontechnical audience
  • Proven ability to work without the need for close supervision showing excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Analytical and inquisitive mindset with ambitions for a successful career within BI
  • Information sponge – ability to remember fine detail and high desire to learn
  • Initiative – Whilst the above points are all important, a proven record of problem solving is a key requirement
  • Drive – self development is key to ensuring the latest techniques are being utilised to produce world class reporting solutions

Desirable:

  • Producing reports for use by senior management and the board of the company
  • Previous experience in Financial services – ideally a commercial bank or telco.
  • Use of, or exposure to BI tools would be an advantage such as PowerBI, Tableau, QlikView, or Crystal Reports
  • Experience of Amazon Web Services (AWS)
  • Using VBA in Excel to automate reports
