African Foundries Limited (AFL) was established to support the accelerating growth in Nigeria by making the country self-reliant for steel rebars and eliminating its dependence on imported rebars. AFL is set up to reach a 0.5 million-ton per year capacity for high strength rebars and allied products.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Factory Human Resource Manager

Job Location: Ogijo, Ogun
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Leadership:


  • Lead the development and implementation of HR strategies aligned with overall business and operational goals.
  • Oversee recruitment, retention, training, performance management, and succession planning.
  • Ensure compliance with labor laws, employee welfare, industrial relations, and HR best practices.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures to drive performance and productivity.
  • Resolve employee grievances and disciplinary matters effectively.

Factory Operations Oversight:

  • Supervise day-to-day factory operations including production, maintenance, quality, and logistics.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to ensure efficient workflow and output.
  • Monitor operational KPIs (cost, quality, delivery, safety, and morale) and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and 5S principles throughout the factory floor.
  • Ensure timely availability of manpower, materials, and machinery to meet production targets.

Administrative Management:

  • Oversee factory administration including facility management, transport, security, and general services.
  • Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and reporting practices across the factory.
  • Liaise with local authorities, vendors, contractors, and statutory bodies for compliance and approvals.

Leadership & Team Development:

  • Lead and mentor a cross-functional team comprising HR, Admin, Production, Maintenance, and Support Staff.
  • Foster a high-performance culture through leadership, coaching, and clear accountability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree in HR, Business Administration, Industrial Relations
  • 15 - 20 years of progressive experience in HR, administration, and factory operations.
  • MBA or Postgraduate in HR or Operations Management is preferred.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills.
  • Deep understanding of factory operations, labor management, and compliance requirements.
  • Ability to handle crises, conflict resolution, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing systems (VIRDi ERP, HRMS),
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving ability.

  • FMCG, Chemical,Manufacturing
