Job Position: Finance Manager

Job Summary
- The Finance Manager will oversee and manage all financial aspects of the hospital’s operations, ensuring accuracy, accountability, and compliance with financial regulations.
- This includes preparing and analyzing financial reports, managing budgets, overseeing billing and collections, and ensuring timely balancing and reconciliation of HMO claims
- The ideal candidate will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making to drive financial sustainability and growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, reports, and records.
- Manage and reconcile HMO claims and payments to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and follow up on payments from patients, HMOs, and corporate clients.
- Supervise the billing and collections team to ensure proper documentation and compliance with hospital policies.
- Develop and implement internal control systems to safeguard hospital assets.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Oversee payroll administration, statutory deductions, and remittances.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations, accounting standards, and other financial laws.
- Liaise with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory agencies.
- Support management with financial insights for operational and strategic planning.
- Prepare and present periodic financial performance reports to management.
- Guide, train, and supervise finance team members to ensure efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 5 - 7 years of progressive finance/accounting experience, preferably in a healthcare or hospital environment.
- Professional certification (ICAN, ACCA, or equivalent) is required.
- Strong knowledge of HMO billing and claims reconciliation.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
- In-depth understanding of Nigerian tax laws and financial regulations.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
- High level of integrity and attention to detail.
