The Position

  • The Finance Manager Diagnostics Nigeria & Anglophone West Africa plays a key role in the establishment of the new Diagnostics Operations in Nigeria.
  • They will closely collaborate with their peer in the Pharma division and leads and manages financial health, compliance and finance processes across the Diagnostics organization.
  • The role reports to the Anglophone West Africa Network lead with a functional reporting line to the Finance Manager Africa Network.
  • The position is located in Lagos, Nigeria

Key Responsibilities

  • Implementation phase of the new organization:
  • Acting as a key contributor for setting up all finance and &supply chain processes in close collaboration with Supply Chain lead and the local deployment project team in general
  • Defining transfer prices
  • Defining local end user pricing strategy in collaboration with the local commercial team
  • After go-live of the new organization
  • Is responsible for managing the Network’s P&L and Net Operating Assets
  • Is accountable for implementing the internal control framework and ensures overall financial compliance with local laws and Roche guidelines
  • Drives cross functional process standardization, automation and integration in collaboration with all relevant stakeholders in the local organization by leveraging his/her regional and global expertise and experience
  • Act as a strategic Business Partner for the Anglophone West Africa Network lead
  • Provide strategic recommendations and directions to the Local Leadership team
  • Advising on mid-/long term business and financial planning, formulating financial targets and budgets
  • Leading the financial operations out of Diagnostics Nigeria, covering all countries of the Anglophone West Africa Network
  • Key contributor to the development of the Subregion Africa Finance & Supply Chain Chapter and the Finance Transformation on the African Continent and beyond

Qualification and Experience

  • Preferably a Master Degree with major in Finance
  • Proven track record as Finance Professional with 5-10 years professional experience
  • Leadership abilities and people management experience is necessary, as well as experience in leading teams in a matrix / agile organization.
  • Knowledge of Africa, the Health Care industry and previous experience in a similar role are an asset
  • Strong technical Finance experience as well as strong commercial acumen.
  • In-depth understanding of cash flow management and hands-on experience with budgeting and risk management, excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting models.
  • SAP experience is considered an asset
  • Fluency in English is a must; any other language spoken in the markets is a plus.
