Alaro City is a joint venture between Rendeavour, the largest new city and industrial park builder in Africa, and the Lagos State Government. It is one of the fastest-growing real estate and urban development projects in Nigeria, conceived on 2,000 hectares of land with areas for offices, logistics and warehousing, homes, schools, healthcare facilities, hotels, entertainment, and 150 hectares of parks and open spaces. Located in the North West Quadrant of the Lekki Free Zone, Alaro City is ideally situated on the Lekki-Epe Expressway for ease of transportation to Lagos or towards the rest of Nigeria. Alaro City is a secure, predictable, and proven environment for individuals and businesses, already home to investments by notable global and local businesses. It is near the future Lagos international airport and the region’s largest deep-sea port.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Financial Analyst
Job Location: Victoria Island, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Description 

  • Track and monitor budgeted expense provisions against actual spend monthly, quarterly, and annually for all utilities entities.
  • Gather, review, update, and analyze industry data/market intel/benchmark information, financial reports, and other key metrics on similar industry players as Alaro Utilities’ companies.
  • Compile documentation required for periodic submission to regulators, stakeholders, and all utilities entities.
  • Develop and monitor profit and loss statements for all utilities entities.
  • Maintain records and monitor cash flow to ensure that there are enough funds available to pay bills on time for all utilities entities.
  • Review reports on cash inflows and outflows and make adjustments as needed to ensure that there is enough cash available to meet company needs.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of monthly management reporting for all utilities entities.
  • Conduct financial and commercial analysis of all new utilities business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain up-to-date demand forecast and profile for all utilities entities.
  • Maintain business plans and financial models for all utilities entities.
  • Upgrade and maintain core business models, including power, water, telecoms, and gas.
  • Monitor and track energy, water, and data accounting through the tracking of metered information from generation source in comparison with distributed and last-mile use to monitor aggregate technical, commercial, and collection losses (ATC&C) for all utilities entities.
  • Support billing and reconciliation exercises for all clients and customers of all utilities entities.
  • Ensure that all expenditures are within the allocated budget and align with company goals.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of annual business plans.
  • Collaborate with executives, project managers, and cross-departmental leadership to set budget goals and monitor spending trends.
  • Create high-quality presentations for senior management.
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned from time to time by the line manager.

For Real Estate Development:

  • Conduct financial and commercial analysis of new land sales, new development projects, and other business opportunities presented for approval by senior management.
  • Maintain investor information memoranda for real estate and other projects.
  • Contribute to deal origination and execution.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of annual business plans.
  • Create and maintain business plans and financial models for real estate developments.
  • Upgrade and maintain core business models, including power, water, and telecoms.
  • Contribute to strategy development and implementation in relation to existing and new businesses.
  • Assist with the preparation and coordination of monthly management reporting.
  • Create high-quality presentations for senior management.

Requirements
Hard skills and experience:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in an Analyst role.
  • CPA or ACCA or CFA certification required.
  • Very strong analytical skills.
  • Experience in the real estate or construction industry is highly desirable.

Soft skills:

  • Mature, pragmatic, and flexible approach, strong commercial judgment.
  • Team player but comfortable working autonomously.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Rigorous and organized approach.

Additional Information

  • The role of Financial Analyst reports to the Head of Finance and is based in Alaro City. The start date is immediate, and the indicative remuneration is negotiable.
