About the Job


  • The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating all fleet, vehicle maintenance, and power generating functions while, achieving continuous improvement of the systems that create and deliver the solutions, ensuring effective deployment of resources to achieve defined / agreed departmental goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Budget management of all items involved in the running of all the transport and power related matter for the company (Monitor spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgets)
  • Ensure all vehicles and equipment in the fleet are properly maintained, registered, licensed, tested and, operated in accordance with Federal, state and local regulations.
  • Build strong fleet partnership with all fleet vendors, ensuring that services, vehicles and generators are satisfying the transportation and power needs of the company
  • Account for the review, critique and request approval for vehicle replacement and buy as brought forward by the department/unit users, ensuring that total owing cost of the fleet are minimized to the extent possible
  • Account for all aspects of the company’s obligations to the department of Transport including vehicle annual tests, record keeping and fleet inspections
  • Adhering strongly to the standards and practices in the area of specialization
  • Collaborate with all Managers, committing to effective tasks delivery
  • Ensure full compliance of all in-house Drivers Pan Nigeria
  • Ensure conformance to QMS ISO9001:2015 requirements
  • Account for the operators of vehicles, equipment and generating plant, while deploying proper instruction and refresher training needed to prevent accidents, injuries and damage to or misuse of vehicles and plant equipment.
  • Create strong relationship with the Traffic Office and wider transport regulatory team so the operational need of our staff can be met at all times and the vehicles can be fully utilized
  • Maintain the stock system and ensure that any vehicle or generator parts are the best value for money available at the time they are needed.
  • To make sure all drivers defect notices are dealt with correctly and all completed defect notes are stored properly.
  • Advice HCSL on vehicle replacement and purchasing policies, displaying a sound knowledge of new vehicle types and vehicle related products
  • Account for all warranty and vehicle manufacturers issues
  • Serve as contact person for all Transport Staff within assigned territories.
  • Direct activities of staff performing repairs and maintenance to equipment, vehicles, and facilities
  • Serve as an expert on tasks that are delegated and assigned to, delivering them within specified time and defined expectation
  • Conduct investigations in cooperation with government agencies to determine causes of transportation accidents and to improve safety procedures.
  • Analyse expenditures and other financial information in order to develop plans, policies, and budgets for increasing profits and improving services.
  • Account for the perspective planning of activities in relation to demand and supply of power with the assigned territory
  • Commit to the maintenance of all KV lines, distribution of power to ensure reliable and quality power supply to the facility assigned
  • Attending to all offices/ regional complaints regarding power supply in terms of quality and other technical matters
  • Account for the accurate distribution of power to the assigned territory

Qualification and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree / HND or equivalent from a reputable tertiary institution
  • Minimum of 5 years of cognate experience
  • Relevant professional certification would be added advantage
