Human Resource Officer

The Bible Society of Nigeria (BSN) is a member of the United Bible Societies (UBS), a global fellowship of Non-Denominational Christian Organization whose primary mission involves translation of the Holy Scriptures into languages people can easily read and understand as well as publishing and distribution of same at affordable prices. It also organizes programmes to encourage interaction with the scripture and raises funds for these activities.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

The Job Holder


  • Supports the development and implementation of HR initiatives and systems.
  • Provides counseling on policies and procedures.
  • Is actively involved in recruitment by preparing job descriptions, posting advertisements and managing the hiring process.
  • Creates and implements effective onboarding plans and develop training and development programmes.
  • Assists in performance management processes.
  • Supports the management of disciplinary and grievance issues and maintains employee records (attendance, data etc.) according to policy and legal requirements.

Personnel/Job Specification
The applicant must:

  • Have a B.Sc/BA in Business Administration, Social Studies or relevant field; further training will be a plus.
  • Have proven work experience of a minimum of 2 years as a HR Officer, administrator or other HR position.
  • Have knowledge of HR functions (pay & benefits, recruitment, training & development etc.)
  • Understand labour laws and disciplinary procedures
  • Be proficient in MS Office; knowledge of HR Management Systems is a plus
  • Have outstanding organizational and time management abilities
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
