Job Summary

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Inventory Officer to manage and monitor stock levels in our supermarket.
  • The role involves ensuring accurate record-keeping, preventing stock shortages or overstocking, and supporting financial accountability with basic accounting knowledge.

Key Responsibilities


  • Maintain accurate records of stock in the supermarket’s inventory system.
  • Monitor stock levels, track product movement, and reconcile physical counts with system records.
  • Receive, inspect, and record deliveries of goods, ensuring quality and quantity checks.
  • Issue stock to departments or sales floor based on requisitions.
  • Conduct regular stock counts (daily, weekly, monthly) and investigate discrepancies.
  • Work with the accounting team to ensure accurate reporting of stock value and movements.
  • Identify slow-moving, expired, or damaged items and report for necessary action.
  • Assist in preparing inventory-related reports for management decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies regarding inventory handling and documentation.
  • Collaborate with procurement and sales teams to forecast demand and manage reorder levels.

Requirements & Qualifications

  • OND/HND/B.Sc. in Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management, preferably in a supermarket or retail setting.
  • Basic knowledge of accounting principles is required.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory management software.
  • Excellent organizational, numerical, and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Integrity and strong sense of responsibility.
