1.)  Director, Policy & Partnerships

• The Partnerships team leads our movement to transform the lives of millions of children through education. We lead pioneering efforts to revitalize Government-led delivery of education across the world.
• We engage with visionary political and Government leadership to help shape policy, strengthen delivery and impact complex education systems through our partnerships.

About The Role

• The Director, Policy & Partnerships, Nigeria will work closely with the Vice President Policy and Partnerships Africa as well as the rest of the P&P team to identify, engage and close new statewide and nationwide partnerships across Nigeria.
• These multi-year, contracted partnerships for complete system transformation become the signature reform of our government partners to deliver on their state’s critical education, development, and economic objectives. The Director of Partnerships Nigeria should be prepared to work with the highest levels of government, from generating leads all the way through successful contract negotiations.
• Throughout this complex partnership development cycle, you will leverage and be supported by other key leaders and groups within the organization (including from Academics, Technology, Executive Leadership). In this role, you will be an execution focused, result oriented contributor who will work collaboratively with other team members across the continent, and will be ultimately responsible for expanding this life-changing work to millions of additional students across Nigeria.

What You Will Do
Manage the full cycle of new partnership development:

• You will generate interest from new potential government partners at the highest levels of government (chief executives of state across Nigeria).
• In addition to presentations, demonstrations, and deep dives, you will need to learn the local context, priorities, politics and challenges, to articulate how this transformation will fulfill each government’s needs, goals and vision.
• While ultimately championed by the chief executive of a government, concluding a new partnership requires identifying and deeply engaging relevant decision makers, supporters, all the way up and down both the bureaucratic and political chains.
• You will use existing and new relationships and networks, conferences and events, along with data-driven approaches to identify key potential partners for whom this type of transformation will resonate and become a priority for their administration.
• You will become a compelling expert in presenting the potential white-labeled partnership to implement this system-wide transformation. This includes your ability to communicate both the big picture political / economic / education vision as well as dive into the details of how each aspect of the transformation is delivered and fits with the specific nuances of the local education system.
• Large, multi-year contracts that will transform an entire statewide education system need to be carefully negotiated, and you will be leading that effort.
• Once a new partnership is closed, you work carefully to transition relationships and oversight to operational implementation leaders and teams.

What You Should Have

• Deep experience across Nigeria in business development / sales for large-scale government contracts / partnerships.
• Experience working with national and regional governments in general as well as demonstrated ability to work across the full spectrum of bureaucracies
• Experience in large, consultative sales for complex services or products.
• Experience in leading through the entire business development process, from "door opening" through to contract negotiations.
• Politically-savvy and ability to understand how partnerships intersect with existing political situations and dynamics.
• Strong presentation skills.
• Other preferable but not key requirements:
  • Exposure to Development Agencies and Partners already working with governments across the Continent (e.g. World Bank, USAID, FCDO).
  • Experience in primary/secondary education is a bonus. But regardless, you have the demonstrated ability to learn a new area or industry.

2.) Officer, Leadership and Development

About the Role

• This role is responsible for effective and high quality implementation of training programs and ensuring that teachers are well-supported through the academic year for the designated new or existing NewGlobe territory that you are assigned.
• This role reports to the Manager, L&D in the territory.

What You will Do

• Establish School Inspection Procedures. The School Inspection Director is responsible for creating and implementing School Inspection procedures and methodologies after deeply understanding our processes.
• The School Inspection Director will measure, monitor, and analyze current processes, make recommendations for improvement and develop new solutions to enhance quality control.
• The School Inspection Director will use and continually improve the core audits and best practices already in place.
• Data gathering & analysis
• Analyze data from training and observations and share trends, insights with Schools and L&D Shared Services team for improvements.
• Be responsible for gathering all training data and preparing the training report to be shared with L&D Shared Services. 
• Gather reliable data consistently from classroom observations and coaching at school within the designated territory and report to the Shared Services L&D team.
• In collaboration with Shared Services Academics, support the design and execution of pilot projects that seek to answer questions on training and coaching effectiveness which will eventually lead to process improvements for L&D

Training & support:

• Be well-equipped to train as an excellent facilitator who will deliver on the Leadership & Development vision for supporting teachers and school leaders in NewGlobe territories (existing or new) 
• Visit classrooms regularly in between training for observing classroom teaching, coaching teachers and supporting school leaders to be effective instructional leaders.
• Participate actively in all activities leading up to the launch of the training under the guidance of L&D Manager ensuring all logistical and operational prerequisites are in place to ensure effective implementation of training. 
• Work with the content design team in Cambridge through the Manager, L&D to support professional development of supervisors as needed by the Schools team.

Requirements
What you should have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in any field. Degrees or certifications in Education would be a bonus.
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a teacher. Any teacher training experience would be a bonus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is a must. PowerPoint, Word, and Google Suite knowledge will be a bonus.

3.) Director, Academics

Job Location: Ekiti

Academics Department

• The objective of Academics is to drive student achievement. To do so, we consider each minute of each class period of each school day for the typical child, in every grade level.
• With a relentless focus on the improvement of learning at scale, Academics works with our Learning Innovation team to scientifically test improvements to our work.
• Academics work to ensure that we are deploying locally appropriate content aligned to the state or national syllabus; that we are carefully tracking the use of our instructional design materials and their efficacy; that we are evaluating the best use of the school day and school year; that we are measuring learning in each grade level, in each school; that we are preparing children to succeed in state and national exams; and that we support graduates transition into secondary school. We keep children’s learning and development as our focus.
• The student’s daily experience - her path to achievement - emerges from her relationship with the school’s teachers and the content that is shared with her. Academics ensure that Schools have children’s learning at its core.
• Academics in each territory or program works with our shared services Academics Department, including Instructional Design and Learning Innovation. Instructional Design, with a core focus on structured pedagogy, is one of our core levers to support teachers and to empower children to learn.
• We never waver from our belief that every child can learn and that schools are the center of the social justice movement to end the generational transfer of poverty. 

About the Role 

• The Director of Academics for this program will ultimately be responsible for educational outcomes across schools. They will project-manage all academic events and initiatives for this program. This work will require coordination between NewGlobe education specialists known as Shared Services who work in instructional design, production, training, and innovation. The Academic Director serves as the link between Shared Services and the information from schools, government officials, and civil society. This work will be codified in a yearly academic plan, which the Academic Director owns.
• Within the program team, the Director of Academics will work with all departments (e.g. Operations, Schools, People Operations) to ensure that all schools have the right operational conditions for learning to take place. The Director of Academics is the resident expert that will push for student achievement by defending the programs' approach and educating government officials, fellow staff members, and school communities.
• The program is a dynamic one that is changing the way students learn in the State through proven methods and constant innovation.
• The Director of Academics is central to unearthing what works in these classrooms.
• The Director of Academics, in collaboration with Shared Services, will design, implement and assess various targeted projects that build on the quality of the program.

What You Will Do 

• Lead execution and interdepartmental coordination of the core academic program in the state through the creation of the Academic Plan
• Advocating for learning outcomes and serving as the program's academic expert for other departments
• Identify areas of growth within our Academic offerings and create programs/policies that improve student learning and school operations
• Manage the Academics team based in Ekiti.
• Providing feedback to the Instructional Design team, in order to improve learning outcomes and culturally contextualize what is taught in the state
• Representing the program with key state stakeholders, including but not limited to SUBEB, MOE, UBEC, and other government education officials
• Conducting necessary market and regulatory research to inform instructional systems and policies (timetable, teacher specialty configurations, retention policies, exam policy, placement policy)
• The Director of Academics will report to the Managing Director.

Education and Qualification

• Bachelor’s Degree in Education or related field, graduate Degrees preferred
• Experience working with secondary schools as a teacher, school leader, or as part of a project
• Experience working as an in-house or external consultant evaluating student learning or teacher development
• Experience writing reports and/or interpreting outcomes with government officials at SUBEB, MOE, UBEC, or similar organizations is a plus
