Job Description
A Snapshot of Your Day:

  • As a Logistics Project Manager at Siemens Energy, you will play a key role in enabling the successful delivery of complex projects by ensuring seamless, compliant, and cost-effective onshore logistics operations across Nigeria.
  • You will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling all onshore logistics activities, with a strong focus on logistics documentation, warehousing, inland transportation, and shipment optimization.
  • While customs clearance activities are executed by a dedicated Customs Professional, you will work closely with them to ensure all project-specific logistics and documentation requirements are met in line with Nigerian regulations and Siemens Energy standards.
  • Your work will directly support project execution schedules, reduce logistics-related risks, and contribute to Siemens Energy’s commitment to reliable, sustainable, and efficient project delivery.

Responsibilities
Onshore Logistics Planning & Execution:

  • Plan and coordinate all onshore logistics activities including port interface, warehousing, and inland transportation
  • Develop and implement project-specific logistics concepts aligned with schedules, construction sequences, and budget requirements.
  • Coordinate with Project Management, Procurement, Engineering, and Site Teams to ensure timely material availability.
  • Establish logistics schedules, milestones, and KPIs and monitor execution progress.

Documentation & Trade Compliance Coordination:

  • Coordinate logistics documentation requirements in line with project and regulatory needs.
  • Ensure consistency between shipping documents, project requirements, and regulatory processes.
  • Support resolution of documentation-related issues impacting delivery timelines.

Inland Transportation Management:

  • Manage warehousing activities including receipt, storage, inventory control, preservation, and dispatch.
  • Coordinate inland transportation including route assessments, permits, escorts, and site delivery sequencing.
  • Oversee handling of heavy-lift, oversized, and sensitive cargo.
  • Ensure safe and timely delivery to multiple project locations.

Shipment Optimization & Cost Efficiency:

  • Develop shipment optimization strategies (Containerization, consolidation, multimodal solutions) to reduce cost and transit time
  • Evaluate logistics options and propose alternative routes or methods to mitigate risks and delays
  • Monitor logistics budgets and identify efficiency improvements without compromising safety or compliance.

Stakeholder and Vendor Management:

  • Coordinate logistics service providers, transporters, warehouse operators, and freight forwarders.
  • Act as the main onshore logistics interface between Siemens Energy and external partners
  • Lead coordination meetings and reporting.

Risk Management & Problem Solving:

  • Identify logistics-related risks and define mitigation measures
  • Implement contingency plans in coordination with project teams
  • Resolve logistics execution issues proactively.

Health, Safety & Quality:

  • Ensure compliance with Siemens Energy EHS policies and local regulations
  • Promote a strong safety culture across logistics activities
  • Ensure logistics execution meets Siemens Energy quality standards.

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in project logistics with strong onshore logistics exposure in Nigeria.
  • Proven experience coordinating Form M and IDEC documentation processes.
  • Strong background in warehousing and inland transportation for large or complex projects.
  • Demonstrated expertise in shipment optimization strategies.
  • Experience in EPC, energy, or infrastructure projects is an advantage.
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Project management tools
  • Mediation skills in case of conflicts
  • Goal-oriented, comfortable working in diverse teams, and experienced in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
