Job Position: Logistics Specialist

Summary


  • The Logistics Specialist is responsible for coordinating a smooth importation process between the bank, suppliers, Logistics partners, and ATC.
  • This includes but is not limited to ensuring accurate and timely processing of importation documents, keeping track of all importation and reporting status of material ordered to the users, following up with supplier/logistics partners to ensure timely delivery of all Equipment / materials ordered and timely resolution of all non-conforming deliveries.
  • The incumbent will ensure the efficient and safe ordering and tracking of relevant equipment using internal systems.
  • The role will include equipment planning and analysis to ensure logistics process improvement, conduct facility planning, and be involved with project management.

Duties

  • Participate in meetings with Projects, Operations, and Energy departments to understand material/equipment requirements for a period as required.
  • Ensure a smooth importation process between the bank, suppliers, Logistics partners and ATC for all imported Equipment.
  • Be the focal point for all logistics-related issues/activities for ATC Nigeria
  • Develop and implement appropriate logistics management processes and procedures 
  • Establish and monitor specific supply chain-based performance measurement systems
  • Ensure a smooth clearing process of all imported Equipment/materials by effectively coordinating with the clearing agents/3PL for shipment clearance.
  • Maintains a shipping/receiving log.
  • Identify and prioritize logistics needs and communicate recommendations to upper management to achieve efficient product and supply distribution
  • Provide data and recommendations on tracking, costing, and usage alternatives
  • Actively promote and champion the use of best practices to ensure compliance with the organization’s policies and procedures
  • Review Logistics Management procedures periodically, to ensure that they remain in line with the changing business requirements and reflect best practice.
  • Manage logistics in line with company policies and procedures and in a manner that ensures the availability of the right goods at the right place, cost, and time
  • Manage couriers/logistics providers to deliver a high level of service to both internal and external customers
  • Manages vendor/supplier relationships to ensure optimal and cost-efficient service delivery.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Finance or Inventory Management.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Warehouse Management within Telecom industry.

Competencies:

  • Excellent communication (both verbal and written) skills
  • Familiar with Passive Telecommunication Network Equipment.
  • Good knowledge of the Nigerian importation process
  • Strong organization, planning, and project management skills; ability to prioritize tasks to meet business requirements and deadlines.
  • Basic knowledge of Health and Safety requirements within the Telecommunications industry.
  • Demonstrated computer proficiency including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Detail-oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong relationship-development skills resulting in long-term mutually beneficial client relationships.
  • Self-motivated; Able to work independently to complete tasks and respond to department requests, as well as collaborate with others to utilize resources and knowledge of others in identifying quality solutions.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record to operate a company vehicle
