Job Position: Mechanical Maintenance Engineer

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Position Description

• This position is responsible for preparing JHA, PTW, and work method statements for mechanical maintenance activities. 
• It ensures mechanical equipment integrity and performance monitoring in line with standard practices to optimize operations. 
• Responsibilities also include conducting periodic inspections, scheduling planned and preventive maintenance, and ensuring that machinery remains in good working condition

Major Areas of Responsibilities

• Prepare SOP/MJR to ensure compliance with industry and regulatory standards. 
• Contribute to and comply with all HSE obligations. 
• Participate in daily toolbox meetings before commencing maintenance activities.
• Contribute to the listing of needed Mechanical maintenance parts, tools, and equipment requirements.
• Testing and functionality inspection of Mechanical installations.
• Provide support for the accomplishment of third-party contractor jobs. 
• Optimize maintenance jobs to a minimal amount of overtime.
• Execute planned Mechanical preventive maintenance jobs. 
• Execute Mechanical corrective maintenance jobs. 
• Replacement of Mechanical installations and fittings.
• Participate in cross-functional sessions to effectively crossbreed knowledge on specialty areas of the job.
• Perform integrity inspection of Mechanical installations to optimize equipment service reliability.
• Support contractors and other functions to perform and accomplish specialty services. 
• Perform red line mark-up on Mechanical and P&IDs for update of MOC and as-built documentation. 
• Perform any other job or duties as directed by the supervisors and the maintenance coordinator.
• Carry out cleaning and housekeeping practices at workplaces.

Minimum Requirements

• HND / BSc / B. Eng. in Mechanical Engineering 
• Relevant experience in a similar role - minimum 8 years 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software as needed to complete reports, logs, and inventory.
• Ability to use the latest PM ERP software to manage maintenance business processes.

Additional Desirable Qualifications: 

• MSc, MNSE, COREN

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

• Knowledge of HSE, PTW, ISO 14001, QA & QC of E&I installations.
• Knowledgeable in Mechanical maintenance job SOP and JHA development.
• Ability to write technical reports and computer literacy. 
• Ability to interpret Mechanical drawings and system analytical skills.
• Knowledgeable in mechanical measurements and the use of precision measuring tools.
• Ability to identify critical Mechanical maintenance materials, tools, and equipment. 
• Knowledgeable in Mechanical installation condition monitoring and performance tracking.
• Knowledgeable in the replacement of Pumps, Mechanical seals, bearings, pulleys, couplings, guards, and other mechanical fittings.
• Knowledgeable in the servicing and overhaul of pumps and other mechanical machines.
• Knowledgeable in pump and rotating equipment alignment.
