Job Position: Operations Officer

Position Overview

  • As the Operations Officer, you will be responsible for managing various administrative, logistical, and programmatic activities to ensure the smooth functioning of our organization dedicated to empowering women and girls in Nigeria.
  • Based in Abuja and reporting to the Programme Coordinator in Benin City, you will serve as the organization's representative, interfacing with partners, managing IT-related activities, and providing essential support to ensure operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Partnership Management:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners, donors, and stakeholders in Abuja, fostering strong relationships and collaboration.
  • Coordinate meetings, calls, and events with partners, ensuring effective communication and follow-up on action points.

IT Management:

  • Manage all IT-related activities, including setting up staff Microsoft 365 apps accounts, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring data security.
  • Provide training and support to staff on IT tools and platforms, ensuring optimal utilization and efficiency.

Operational Support:

  • Support the Programme Coordinator in Benin City in ensuring the organization's operations run smoothly, including procurement, logistics, and vendor management.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of operational policies, procedures, and workflows to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Website Management (WordPress) and Design:

  • Manage and maintain the organization's WordPress website, ensuring content is up-to-date, engaging, and reflective of our mission and activities.
  • Create visual assets and designs using tools like Canva to support marketing and communication efforts.

Project Management:

  • Manage the organization's project management platform (e.g., Monday.com), ensuring accurate and timely updates, task assignments, and progress tracking.
  • Assist in coordinating project activities, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Information Technology, or a related field with 0 - 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in operations management, partnership management, or project coordination, preferably in the nonprofit sector.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with IT support and familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications, including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and Outlook.
  • Proficiency in project management tools, WordPress website management, and graphic design software such as Canva is desirable but not required.

Terms of Appointment

  • This is a full-time, permanent remote position starting in June 2024 and based in Abuja, Nigeria.
  • As an Operations Officer, you’ll work 7 hours daily, Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with a one-hour unpaid break. Fridays are designated for personal development, providing you with dedicated time to focus on your growth and well-being.
