Position: Portfolio Assistant (Support Credit Officer)

About the Job
FINCA is recruiting for highly-motivated and detail-oriented Portfolio Assistant (Support Credit Officer) to be part of the pioneer team for FINCA Microfinance bank in Owerri, Nigeria. Portfolio Assistant report to the Credit Supervisor/Branch Manager in the branch and is responsible for the management of handed over portfolio (Current and Arrears<30days) and relief of a Credit Officer while on leave.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Relief portfolio of CRO when her/is proceed on all kinds of approved leave (maternity, Annual, Causal, compassionate, etc) upon allocation by the authorized officer.
  • Management of handed over portfolio (Current and Arrears <30days). However, will be required to support the team on customers beyond this class of customers.
  • Assist supervisor/reliever CRO on recapping of mature loans in the portfolio. This excludes financial evaluation of customers.
  • Services is engaged upon emergencies (Termination of CRO, Sick CRO, Absconded CRO and other activity that might hinder the CRO) pending a suitable plan is perfected by the BM/Supervisor.
  • Services is disengaged upon full handover is completed with the CRO upon resumption/availability of the CRO or alternative officer provided by the BM/Supervisor

Qualifications and Experience:

  • OND level of education
  • Proficient in English Language and Igbo Language will be an advantage
  • Not or will not be engaged in full time program for the next 1year of employment
