Property Assistant

AS Operations West Africa Limited (ASO) is a Nigeria-registered subsidiary of Adam Smith International (ASI). ASO provides operational support to three DFID-funded projects in Nigeria, i.e. NIAF, GEMS and ENABLE. Operational services include IT and Communications; Residential and Hotel Accommodations; Administrative Support; Domestic Ground and Air Transportation; International Travel and Protocol; and, Security Services.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Summary


  • Based in Kano, this position works within the Northern Operations Section of a mid-sized operational services company. Among our clients is a leading international advisory firm that works throughout the world to help reform and improve economies and institutions
  • This is an entry level position which provides property support to the client by performing a number of tasks related to the management of the office building and residential buildings
  • Salary is based on a posted pay scale. This entry level position is classified as a Support Services Level 5

Responsibilities

  • Monitoring availability of drinking water, office supplies and kitchen supplies in the office
  • Filling water dispensers throughout the office each morning
  • Collecting and reporting daily property reports from the guards
  • Monitoring and reporting on issues with generators and ACs
  • Ensuring central services such as waste disposal and electricity credits are monitored and reported
  • Emptying shredders when necessary
  • Filing paper supplies at printers
  • Supervising the work of contractors who are carrying out property work at the office and residences
  • Maintaining a list of tenants and their stewards in the BQs and providing contact information to the Manager
  • Other related duties.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Excellent time management skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Above-average ability to speak in English and in Hausa
  • Knowledge of MS Office including Excel and Word; and
  • Ability to manage competing priorities.

Education and Experience:

  • A first level degree in a related field of study;
  • At least two years of Property Management experience; and
  • Experience with the use of a variety of computer applications including Excel and Word
