Halcom Management Services (HMS) - Our client, an international standard, multi-speciality, acute hospital located in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2024. Facilities and services provided include: emergency care, surgical, medical, internal medicine, family medicine, renal care, gynaecology, obstetrics, paediatrics, pathology, physiotherapy radiology and pharmacy. Skilled and professional staff form the foundation of a well-run hospital. The hospital will provide up-to-date facilities and services allowing our medical professionals to work efficiently and effectively.

Job Position: Public Relations Officer (PRO)

Summary of Responsibilities

  • To build and maintain sound relationships with patients, the community and doctors, resolving patient problems and ensuring that the physical image, hospital brand and public service levels of the hospital are consistently presented at superior levels.
  • To promote a positive image of the hospital and ensuring effective communication with the public, patients, and the media. and to build and maintain the hospital’s reputation, manage crises, and foster goodwill in the community.

Job Requirements

  • Degrees or Diploma in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or a related field with relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience in public relations, preferably in a healthcare or hospital setting.
  • Proficiency in social media management and digital marketing.
  • Knowledge of healthcare regulations and privacy laws (HIPAA, etc.).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building abilities.
  • Crisis management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends if required.
