We are looking for a competitive and trustworthy Sales Executive to help us build up our business activities.

Sales Executive responsibilities include discovering and pursuing new sales prospects, negotiating deals and maintaining client satisfaction. If you have excellent communication skills and feel comfortable reaching out to potential clients to demonstrate our services and products through email and phone, we’d like to meet you.

Ultimately, you’ll help us meet and surpass business expectations and contribute to our company’s rapid and sustainable growth.

Work Mode: Hybrid (3 days onsite)
Salary: N180,000

Core Functions


  1. Conducting market research to identify selling possibilities and evaluate client needs

Functions

  1. Sales & Revenue Generation
    1. Actively sell travel packages, tours, and other Afari Travels & Tours services to clients.
    2. Achieve monthly and quarterly sales targets.
    3. Upsell and cross-sell additional travel-related services to maximize revenue.
    4. Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns
    5. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
    6. “Go the extra mile” to drive sales
       
  2. Client Relationship Management
    1. Build and maintain strong relationships with individual and corporate clients.
    2. Respond promptly to inquiries and provide expert guidance on travel needs.
    3. Ensure excellent after-sales service to maintain client satisfaction and retention.
    4. Set up meetings with potential clients and listen to their wishes and concerns
    5. Prepare and deliver appropriate presentations on products and services
    6. Participate on behalf of the company in exhibitions or conferences
       
  3. Market Research & Strategy
    1. Identify opportunities to reach new market segments and expand market share.
    2. Monitor competition (acquisitions, pricing changes and new products and features).
    3. Organize and attend marketing activities or events to raise brand awareness.
    4. Stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging travel destinations.
    5. Collaborate with the marketing team to develop and execute promotional campaigns.
       
  4. CRM & Reporting
    1. Create and share quotes/proposal with leads and clients.
    2. Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records using the company’s CRM system.
    3. Upload leads to the CRM for follow up and lead management.
    4. Prepare and submit weekly and monthly sales performance reports.
       
  5. Travel Expertise
    1. Develop in-depth knowledge of Afari’s travel offerings, including packages, destinations, and visa processes.
    2. Provide personalized travel recommendations tailored to client needs.

Typical Day Responsibilities

Morning: Coordinate with the Sales Coordinator to review the weekly calendar and set priorities. Update the CRM with pending leads and follow-ups from the previous day. Plan and organize scheduled client meetings or calls for the day.

Mid-Morning: Review ongoing lead/client inquiries and prioritize high-value or time-sensitive tasks.

  • Prospecting: Conduct outreach to potential clients via calls, emails, or social media to introduce travel packages and services.
  • Collaboration: Engage with the marketing team to review promotional campaigns and ensure alignment with sales goals.
  • Task Management: Review client inquiries, prepare proposals, and address high-priority tasks to ensure client satisfaction.

Afternoon: Engage leads/clients and share necessary information with the objective of sales conversion.

  • Client Engagement: Host scheduled meetings or calls with clients to understand their travel needs and present tailored solutions.
  • Operational Support: Coordinate with operations to ensure seamless execution of booked packages, including documentation and follow-ups.
  • Lead Conversion: Work on closing deals by addressing client concerns, negotiating terms, and finalizing bookings.

Late Afternoon: Build relationships, update records and follow Sales Funnel SOP.

  • Relationship Building: Reach out to existing clients for feedback or upselling opportunities, strengthening client relationships.
  • Updates & Reports: Compile sales updates and share performance insights with the team, identifying key wins and challenges.
  • Documentation: Ensure all proposals, contracts, and client communications are up-to-date and properly filed.

End of Day: Wrap up any pending tasks & share report. Prepare & submit agendas for next-day engagements, and ensure all communications, leads, proposal and invoice notes are up-to-date.

  • Daily Summary: Wrap up pending tasks and update the CRM with completed activities, including notes, closed deals and ongoing follow-ups.
  • Planning Ahead: Prepare an agenda for the next day, including key client engagements and target follow-ups.
  • Team Communication: Share a brief report of the day’s activities with the Sales Coordinator, highlighting progress and opportunities.

Requirements

  1. Education: A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality, or a related field.
  2. Experience: 2-4 years of proven sales experience, preferably in travel, tourism, or hospitality.
  3. Skills:
    1. Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
    2. Strong organizational and time-management abilities.
    3. Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and sales tools.
    4. Ability to thrive under pressure and meet sales targets.
  4. Additional Attributes:
    1. A passion for travel and delivering exceptional client experiences.
    2. Knowledge of global travel destinations and visa requirements is an advantage.

Monthly Milestone Bonus

The following targets are mandatory and consistent with our sales & marketing policies.

  1. Generate direct sales of N30,000,000.00 in monthly revenue. a
  2. Acquire 100 qualified leads. b
  3. Support sales department to achieve it monthly target with your contribution.c
  4. Send 80 proposals on the CRM (Ratio maximum count is 2 proposals per lead/customer). d 

If superscripts A, B, and (C or D) are distinction rated, a “Milestone Bonus” is awarded for the month.

  1. Sales commission is awarded on closed business opportunities.
  2. A sales bonus is granted on every N800,000.00 closed transaction.
