Job Position: Site Manager (Dredging)

Job Location: Lagos

About the job


  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing dredging site operations, including planning, execution, and supervision of dredging activities.
  • The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or mechanical engineering, with extensive experience in managing dredging projects. 
  • The Dredging Site Manager will be accountable for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and project specifications. 
  • The candidate must reside in Lagos.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Oversee daily dredging operations, ensuring efficient and safe execution.
  • Monitor and control dredging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and maintenance.
  • Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
  • Lead and motivate a team of dredging professionals, providing guidance and support.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
  • Communicate project progress, issues, and concerns to clients and internal stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in dredging operations, with a proven track record of managing dredging site operations.
  • Must be a member of COREN
  • Experience in managing large-scale dredging projects is an added advantage.
  • Strong understanding of dredging principles, equipment, and techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Valid driver's license and other relevant certifications are an added advantage.
