Job Position: Site Manager (Dredging)
Job Location: Lagos
About the job
- The successful candidate will be responsible for managing dredging site operations, including planning, execution, and supervision of dredging activities.
- The ideal candidate will have a strong background in civil or mechanical engineering, with extensive experience in managing dredging projects.
- The Dredging Site Manager will be accountable for ensuring compliance with safety regulations, environmental standards, and project specifications.
- The candidate must reside in Lagos.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement project plans, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
- Oversee daily dredging operations, ensuring efficient and safe execution.
- Monitor and control dredging equipment, ensuring optimal performance and maintenance.
- Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and environmental guidelines.
- Conduct regular site inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions.
- Lead and motivate a team of dredging professionals, providing guidance and support.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, ensuring their needs are met and expectations exceeded.
- Communicate project progress, issues, and concerns to clients and internal stakeholders.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in dredging operations, with a proven track record of managing dredging site operations.
- Must be a member of COREN
- Experience in managing large-scale dredging projects is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of dredging principles, equipment, and techniques.
- Familiarity with safety regulations, environmental standards, and industry best practices.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Valid driver's license and other relevant certifications are an added advantage.
