ACCOUNTANT

Meals & Dishes is a wholly owned Nigerian company, established with a view to rendering quality Food Processing, Eatery and General Contract Services in Nigeria. A subsidiary of Maverick Derons Limited, with head office located in Portharcourt Rivers State Nigeria.

Job Title: Accountant

Location: Port Harcourt

We require the services of an Accountant as detailed:

• In charge of all the financial transactions of the company
• Prepare assets, liability and capital account entries by compiling analyzing account information
• Post all daily transactions into software and reconcile statements with posted transactions at the end of the month
• Summarize current financial status by collection information, preparing balance sheet, profit and loss statement and other reports
• Prepare payments by verifying documentations
• Compile all staff salaries/bonus/allowances and controlling the payroll
• Work closely with external Auditors in balancing yearly company accounts in preparation for tax clearance certificates and Audited accounts.
• Reconcile bank statements
• Process invoices from IOCs and also follow up on them to make sure invoices are paid as at when due.  
• Ensuring legislation is followed regarding VAT and PAYE, chasing late payments, reporting bad debts, and keeping a careful eye on the cash flow
• An interface between the company and the banks on all financial issues and make sure all are resolved.
• Report directly to the Managing Director and advise accordingly on all financial issues as affecting the company directly and indirectly.
• Report all accidents, incidents and near misses in accordance with procedures
• Ensure compliance to HSE rules
