Composite Repair Technician

An Indigenous Oil and Gas Company located in Port Harcourt is recruiting to fill the position of a Composite Repair Technician.

     Responsibilities/Summary of Functions:


  • Review blueprints and instructions
  • Trim, assemble, and finish each composite piece
  • Inspect components to ensure they meet specifications
  • Maintain equipment and tools
  • Design and application of composite compound repair or sleeve, non-leaking defect, and other types of anomalies with approved written procedure
  • Scoping of pipeline defect
  • Preparation of engineering designs for special lines
  • Mobilization of materials
  • Inspect composite components for wear, warping, cracks, and leaks
  • Analyze and understand blueprints, specifications, and maintenance manuals to make repairs
  • Order supplies, equipment, materials, and parts for repairs and general maintenance
  • Keep detailed records of inspections, maintenance, repairs, and parts inventory
  • Corrects discrepancies using information from engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, or other documents as required
  • Uses manufacturing planning, written instructions, schematics, blueprints and other applicable technical data to repair, fabricate and modify composite structures

 

Requirements/Qualification:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical school or related education preferred
  • Three (3) or more years of experience in an industrial operations or as a service technician
  • Basic mechanical pipe component fitting skill 
  • Proficient with composite tools and techniques, such as Pre-preg and wet lay-up
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks, often changing assignments on short notice
  • Ability to prioritize and complete work assignments by specific deadlines
  • Knowledge of plant maintenance and repair work preferred
  • Ability to follow precise directions and procedures of the supervisor on the project
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong safety skills
