1.) Laboratory Attendant

Job Location: Abuja
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description


  • The Laboratory Attendant is responsible for supporting the effective delivery of practical science lessons by preparing laboratory materials, maintaining laboratory equipment, and ensuring a safe, clean, and well-organized laboratory environment.
  • The role supports teachers and students during practical sessions and ensures compliance with safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
Laboratory Preparation & Support:

  • Prepare laboratory equipment, chemicals, specimens, and materials for practical science lessons (Biology, Chemistry, Physics).
  • Assist science teachers during laboratory practical sessions when required.
  • Ensure all materials are properly labeled and arranged before and after experiments.
  • Set up and dismantle laboratory apparatus for experiments and demonstrations.

Equipment & Inventory Management:

  • Clean, store, and maintain laboratory equipment after use.
  • Monitor stock levels of chemicals, consumables, and equipment.
  • Keep accurate records of laboratory inventory and report shortages or damages promptly.
  • Assist in receiving, checking, and safely storing laboratory supplies.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure laboratory safety rules are followed by students at all times.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free laboratory environment.
  • Properly handle, store, and dispose of chemicals and waste according to safety guidelines.
  • Report accidents, spillages, or safety concerns immediately to the appropriate authority.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of safety equipment (fire extinguishers, first aid kits, eye wash stations, PPE).

Maintenance & Housekeeping:

  • Clean laboratory benches, sinks, floors, and storage areas regularly.
  • Ensure laboratory utilities (water, gas, electricity) are switched off after use.
  • Identify and report faulty equipment or maintenance issues.

Administrative Duties:

  • Maintain laboratory registers, usage logs, and safety records.
  • Support annual laboratory audits and inspections.
  • Assist with laboratory-related documentation when required.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience in a school laboratory or similar environment is an advantage.
  • Basic knowledge of laboratory equipment and safety procedures.
  • Ability to follow instructions accurately and work with minimal supervision.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.
  • Physically fit and able to handle laboratory equipment safely.

2.) Government Teacher

  • They are responsible for planning, executing, and assessing lessons, fostering a positive learning environment, and contributing to the overall academic development of students.

Responsibilities
Curriculum Planning and Development:

  • Develop detailed and well-structured lesson plans aligned with the curriculum and educational standards.
  • Create engaging and innovative teaching materials, incorporating various instructional strategies to meet diverse learning styles.

Classroom Instruction:

  • Deliver lessons that inspire curiosity and critical thinking, making the subject matter accessible and relevant to students.
  • Utilize effective teaching methodologies, technology, and resources to enhance the learning experience.

Assessment and Evaluation:

  • Prepare and submit question banks on the scheduled date.
  • Design and administer assessments to measure students' understanding of the subject.

Communication:

  • Maintain open and effective communication with the principal, vice principal- academics, students, and colleagues regarding students' progress, behavior, and academic achievements..

Classroom Management:

  • Establish and enforce a positive and structured classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to address behavioral issues and maintain a respectful atmosphere.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Reflect on teaching practices, seek feedback, and actively participate in self-evaluation to enhance professional growth.
  • Contribute to school-wide initiatives and collaborate with peers to continuously improve the overall educational experience for students.
  • Any other additional responsibility as may be assigned by the primary head and management.

  • They provide support in the absence of regular teachers, offer additional assistance, and contribute to the overall educational continuity within the school.

Responsibilities

  • Fill in for absent teachers, ensuring that daily lesson plans are followed and educational objectives are met.
  • Adapt quickly to different grade levels, subjects, and teaching styles within the school.

Subject-Specific Support:

  • Provide targeted support for specific subjects or assist students who need additional help.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to maintain consistency in curriculum delivery.

  • Work with small groups of students to reinforce concepts, provide enrichment, or address specific learning needs.

Flexible Instructional Roles:

  • Implement effective classroom management strategies to maintain a positive and structured learning environment.
  • Establish rapport with students while upholding school policies and procedures.

Collaboration with Teachers:
