Matron - Lead Nurse/ Midwife

Barbinton Medical Centre (a member of the Primary Care Quality Network) seeks qualified individuals to work in the newly upgraded Comprehensive Primary Health Centre.

• Should be double qualified (Nurse-Midwife)
• Monitors the first-contact patient evaluation and examination: weight, BP, etc.
• Leads the nursing team in providing in-patient care and treatment protocol delivery.
• Leads the nursing management of Women and Children’s Health: ante-natal care, facility delivery, immunization etc.
• Works in cooperation with the medical officer to increase patients understanding of therapeutic and preventative health management.
• Integral to the Centre’s health information and patient communication: designs and delivers health talks.
• Leads the Centre’s delivery of at-home patient management and home visits, delivered through the community health extension workers.
• Maintain patient records in the computerised medical records system (training provided).
• Supervises the junior medical staff involved in patient care.
• Takes an active role in supporting the implementation of the Continuous Quality Improvement programme.
