We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Operations Manager (Crops and Vegetables)

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time
Department: General Services
Reports to: General Manager
Level: Officer 4

Job Brief

  • To Oversee the vegetable crops and other cash crops production on the farm and coordinate daily processes and operations with an emphasis on financial results.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for coordinating the activities of the farm supervisors and other stuff
  • Liaising with the Financial Institutions to raise funds for agricultural import and export
  • Collaborating with senior staff to prepare budgets and financial reports.
  • Building professional networks and keeping abreast of developments in agricultural science.
  • Analysing existing operations, crops, staff, and financial documents and recommending improvements.
  • Responsible for liaising with appropriate agencies
  • Assisting with the recruitment and training of new staff members.
  • Scheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery.

Job Specification
Education:

  • B.Sc or HND qualification in Agriculture or Agricultural Sciences from a reputable institution.
  • Minimum of 8 years in Agribusiness
  • At least 3 years experience at managerial level.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Experience with the requirements for vegetable export
  • Must have hands on experience of how the agribusiness sector works
  • Knowledgeable in the raising of funds for agribusiness
  • Knowledge of Animal Husbandry will be an added advantage
  • Compulsory knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Good problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Must be willing to shuttle between Ondo Town and Lagos
  • Familiar with international best practices of growing, cultivating, harvesting and storing crops
  • Capacity and experience to develop training manuals and also train subordinates
  • Good people development, management and leadership skills.
  • Good interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills.
