Job Title: Student Advisor - USA – West Africa ( Corporate Division)
Functional Area: Navitas Group Marketing
Reports to: Marketing Manager – Navitas USA
Full time or part time: Full time
Location: Ikeja, Lagos (do not apply if you are unable to work 5 days per week from Ikeja)

1. Overview and objectives of the position:
This role forms an integral part of the Navitas Group Marketing team and will be based in the Lagos Regional Office (Nigeria). The position reports to the Marketing Manager – Navitas USA group marketing team, providing cover (domestically and on occasion internationally) when required.
 
The Student Advisor - USA role will be responsible for converting offer-holding prospective students into paid and enrolled students, throughout the network of USA Navitas colleges.
 
This will be achieved via a coordinated and procedure driven outbound communication process, utilising several channels of written and verbal communications with both offer-holding prospective students and student counsellors (agents responsible for sourcing education placements for prospective students to study in the USA).
 
The Student Advisor - USA will play a key role in developing the relationship between the Marketing Staff residing within Navitas Colleges/Business Units (BU), as well as their Admission Officers. The Student Advisor - USA will be expected to contribute to the agreed strategy in order to achieve agreed student recruitment targets.
 
The overall objective of the position is to support the Navitas West Africa Group Marketing team in their goal of market development, diversity and growth.

iv. Marketing Directors and/or Marketing Managers, Navitas USA business units

3. Key result areas:

Conversion (60%)  

  • Positively impact conversion rates for Nigeria and West Africa (based on defined KPIs and targets) from prospective student offer to acceptance, payment, I-20 issuance, mock interview, visa receipt and arrival
  • Adhere to a clearly defined conversion process
  • Respond to prospective student enquiries accordingly and refer to BU and line manager as appropriate
  • Building rapport with counsellors and students alike via phone, email and other means like Skype
  • Follow up with agents / students regarding admissions related issues e.g. document requests
  • Ensure that all student / agent enquiries are effectively followed up within agreed time parameters
  • Maintaining up-to-date made offer (international students) records utilising CRM systems & reporting
  • Ensuring the highest service levels at all times, going above and beyond expectations

Training (15%)

  • Develop and maintain a strong, accurate and up to date knowledge base of all Navitas USA products and colleges
  • Ensure that all front line sales staff (predominantly residing within the SCO network) are regularly trained on all Navitas US products and colleges
  • Assist the BU staff in creating a refined Value Proposition based on feedback from prospective students and counsellors.
  • Feeding back information to BUs, line manager, where relevant

Application Processing, Payment and Student Arrival (15%)  

  • Assist in the process of application processing, payment receipt and student arrival where necessary
  • Assist BU staff and Admission Officers in collating I-20 issuance (pre-visa) documentation

General (10%)

  • Carry out duties as may be required
  • Volume of work varies throughout the year, be willing to work as part of a larger team when needed

4. Qualifications and Selection Criteria
Essential:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s/tertiary degree level qualification and / or marketing experience
  • High Level English skills
  • Demonstrate high level interpersonal communication skills inclusive of writing, communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrate a proven ability as a team player
  • Demonstrate a flexible attitude to work (e.g. in hours and content), including a willingness to work weekends and evenings in support of Marketing activities both locally and abroad
  • Demonstrate innovative thinking and proactive work habits
  • Demonstrate a commitment to self-development to enhance skills and abilities
  • Have the ability to work to tight deadlines, changing priorities, on their own initiative
  • Be self-motivated and a good organiser
  • Have extensive knowledge and experience in using Windows-based software applications (primarily word and excel)

Desirable:

  • International study experience
  • Possess knowledge of international Education Services Industry and overseas education system
