We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Account Officer

Job Location: Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Role Overview

• The Account Officer will support the Company’s accounting, financial, and tax operations by maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely processing of transactions, and managing tax obligations in compliance with applicable regulations.
• The role requires accuracy, confidentiality, discipline, and strong communication.

Key Responsibilities
Accounting & Finance:

• Record and maintain accurate financial transactions, including income, expenses, payments, and receipts
• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Prepare payment vouchers, invoices, and receipts
• Reconcile bank statements and company accounts
• Support payroll preparation and salary documentation
• Track expenses and assist with budget monitoring
• Prepare basic financial reports for Management review
• Ensure proper filing and documentation of financial records.

Tax Management:

• Compute, prepare, and file applicable taxes (e.g., PAYE, VAT, WHT, and other statutory taxes)
• Ensure timely remittance of all statutory deductions to relevant tax authorities
• Maintain accurate tax records and documentation
• Liaise with tax authorities and consultants when required
• Support tax audits, assessments, and compliance reviews
• Monitor changes in tax regulations and ensure Company compliance.

General Duties:

• Liaise with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams on financial matters
• Ensure strict compliance with Company financial and tax policies
• Respond promptly to Management’s financial and tax-related requests.

Hybrid Work Requirement:

• This is a hybrid role and not fully remote
• The Account Officer must resume physically at the office two (2) days per weekon designated days
• Physical attendance is mandatory and forms part of performance evaluation
• Logistics and transportation for office resumption are the responsibility of the staff member.

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proven experience in accounting and basic tax management
• Good knowledge of accounting principles and Nigerian tax regulations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• High level of integrity and confidentiality
• Ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision
• Good communication and organizational skills.
