Chief Accountant Job at Polo - Cico Farms and Estate Limited

Polo - Cico Farms and Estate is adiversified farm complex specializing in large-scale greenhouse production of assorted pepper varieties, alongside poultry and catfish farming for local and international markets.

We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Chief Accountant
Job Location: Omoku, Rivers

Responsibilities

• Set up an accounting system for the farm for gathering and analyzing financial information generated from all farm operations to provide accurate reports to the managing director.
• Ensures the reconciliation of all bank accounts monthly and follow up on any reconciliation item.
• Prepare annual financial statements and monthly closing and management accounting reports and schedules.
• Assists the managing director in budget planning, as well as controlling and forecasting income and expenditure.
• Ensures that accurate financial information to the Managing Director for presentation to board of directors are timely available.
• Assists in providing support during interim and final audits of the account of the company by external Auditors through provision of relevant documents and information.
• Ensures that company’s assets are managed effectively with accurate and complete records duly kept.
• Ensures statutory returns are accurately made to relevant tax authorities including PAYE, Pensions etc.
• Ensures strict adherence to Finance standard operating procedure in all the activities of the department.
• Review payroll and ensure the monthly salary schedule and the required statutory taxes, NSITF and pension deductions are promptly remitted to respective statutory bodies.
• Manage stocks and all stocks related issues.

Requirements

• HND / B.Sc in Accountancy / Finance and must be a Chattered Accountant with at least 3 years of experience as head of Accounts/Finance.
