Summary


  • The Control Manager is responsible for overseeing all fleet, journey, and driver performance activities within the control tower to ensure operational efficiency, productivity, and compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
  • The role ensures the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all driver and vehicle data, supporting effective decision-making and continuous improvement across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor real-time fleet and driver activities using telematics, GPS, and tracking systems.
  • Ensure adherence to approved routes, rest hours, speed limits, and company journey policies.
  • Conduct periodic audits of driver logs, trip records, and vehicle utilization.
  • Track fleet performance metrics such as turnaround time, idle time, route adherence, and fuel efficiency.
  • Identify unsafe driving patterns, non-compliance issues, or data anomalies and take corrective actions.
  • Coordinate with fleet supervisors, drivers, and logistics teams to resolve operational issues promptly.
  • Develop and track performance indicators related to driver productivity and fleet utilization.
  • Generate accurate and timely productivity and compliance reports for management review.
  • Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
  • Support capacity-building and driver development programs to enhance performance and safety.
  • Ensure full compliance with company policies, road transport regulations, and safety standards.
  • Manage data accuracy and integrity across all reporting and monitoring platforms.
  • Collaborate with IT and analytics teams to enhance tracking tools and automate reporting systems.
  • Support incident investigations with accurate historical data and journey records.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to management for operational and safety improvements.
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, compliance frameworks, and emerging best practices.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, compliance, and driver performance.
  • Ensure timely escalation and closure of all identified control and compliance gaps.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, safety, and performance excellence within the control tower team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Transport Management, Logistics, Safety Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in fleet monitoring, journey management, or transport compliance roles, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial capacity.
  • Familiarity with Safety Management Systems (SMS) and performance monitoring tools is an added advantage.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong knowledge of journey management, fleet operations, and transport compliance standards.
  • Proficiency in telematics, GPS tracking, Power BI, or other dashboard and reporting systems.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • High attention to data accuracy and integrity.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
