Role Overview

As a Mechanical Installation Technician (Level 3), you will work independently on the installation of advanced building service systems. This is an experienced technician role where you take ownership of installation, commissioning, and delivery of HVAC and mechanical systems in commercial and industrial projects.

This is not residential work. You will be responsible for the end-to-end quality of the installation, and for guiding less experienced colleagues on-site.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret mechanical drawings and technical schematics independently.
• Install complete heating, ventilation, cooling, sanitary, and piping systems in large buildings.
• Assemble and connect ducts, AHUs, chillers, boilers, pumps, and pipe networks.
• Perform system balancing, testing, and commissioning of mechanical installations.
• Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues during project delivery.
• Supervise and guide junior colleagues on site.
• Ensure safety compliance according to international standards (VCA or HSE equivalent).
• Report installation progress and handover status clearly to site supervisors and project managers.

Must-Have Candidate Profile

Education:

• Minimum HND or B.Eng./B.Sc. in:
• Mechanical Engineering
• Building Services Engineering
• Installation Technology

Professional Experience (Commercial/Industrial Projects Only):

• HVAC & Building Installations – 3+ years hands-on installation of HVAC/climate systems (ducting, AHUs, chillers, boilers, sanitary systems). Must show independent project execution.
• Technical Drawings – 2+ years proven proficiency in reading and applying drawings/schematics without supervision.
• System Commissioning & Testing – 1+ year direct experience balancing, testing, and commissioning systems.
• Piping & Ductwork Installation – 3+ years strong skills in welding, soldering, and assembling duct/piping networks.
• Supervision of Colleagues – 2+ years experience guiding or mentoring junior staff on-site.
• Safety Compliance – Practical knowledge of international service safety protocols (HSE I–III, NEBOSH, or VCA strongly preferred).

Mandatory Prerequisites

• Born after 01/10/1995 (visa compliance).
• Valid driver’s license (Nigerian).
• Valid international passport (or ability to obtain within 2 weeks).
• Fluent, clear English (spoken & written) — essential for technical reporting and client interaction.
• Fully relocation-ready within 12 weeks.

Perfect Candidate Profile

• Has previous experience on international contract jobs abroad (e.g., Gulf states, West Africa, or multinational projects) in HVAC/mechanical installations.
• Skilled in large commercial/industrial HVAC projects — not just residential.
• Confident working independently on commissioning and handover of complete building systems.
• Experienced in supervising small teams and maintaining site safety standards.
• Comfortable with English documentation and technical communication.
• Career-driven, motivated to build a long-term professional path in Europe.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Certifications: HSE I–III, NEBOSH, ASHRAE HVAC, AutoCAD HVAC, F-Gas handling.
• Knowledge of smart building systems, IoT, geothermal energy (WKO).
• Basic electrical knowledge: wiring, sensors, automation, control panels.
• International or multinational work exposure.

Not Suitable

• Candidates with only residential construction experience.
• Those who require daily supervision or cannot work independently.
• Weak or unclear English (role is client-facing).
• No experience with commissioning or troubleshooting.
• No driver’s license.
• Candidates born after 01/10/1995.
• Candidates unwilling to relocate within 12 weeks.
