We are recruiting to fill the position below:

Job Position: Software Solution Architect (Fintech)

Job Location: Hybrid – Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time or Fractional (Contract-to-Hire)
Contract Period: 90days
Team Collaboration: Engineers, Product Managers, DevOps, QA, Compliance

Key Responsibilities
Architecture Design & Documentation:

• Design scalable, auditable systems for remittance, merchant collections, and agency banking.
• Model services, data flows, job queues, and transactional boundaries with high reliability.
• Maintain architectural artifacts including diagrams, API specs, and ADRs.
• Define event handling, service boundaries, data consistency, and recovery strategies.
• Produce detailed Solution Design Documents (SDDs) with rollback, idempotency, and failure plans.

Technical Standards & Governance:

• Establish design standards for fault tolerance, observability, and maintainability.
• Lead pre-implementation design reviews and approve key architecture decisions.
• Define and validate non-functional requirements (SLA, rate limits, availability, etc.).
• Guide schema versioning, API lifecycle, and compatibility strategies.
• Ensure production code aligns with approved SDDs via peer reviews.

Security, Risk & Compliance:

• Partner with Compliance to enforce PCI DSS-aligned architecture.
• Architect secure systems with encrypted data flow and strong secrets management.
• Plan for system auditability, traceability, and operational rollback paths.

Developer Enablement:

• Build boilerplate templates and reusable patterns for high-velocity development.
• Conduct architecture walk-throughs and mentor engineers in design-first development.
• Guide developers through reviews, performance tuning, and best practice adoption.
• Ensure code quality and coverage meet production-readiness thresholds.

Required Qualifications
Technical Expertise:

• 8+ years of software development experience.
• 3+ years as a solution architect or technical lead in a fintech or financial systems context.
• Deep experience with payments, remittance, or digital banking platforms.
• Skilled in Java, JavaScript, Python, Node.js, and modern cloud-native development (preferably AWS).
• Expertise in microservices, distributed systems, messaging patterns (Kafka, RabbitMQ), and OpenAPI/Swagger.
• Strong grasp of system resilience models (e.g., SAGA, event sourcing).

Strategic Thinking:

• Understands how architecture impacts feature velocity, compliance, and risk.
• Skilled in identifying technical debt and scalability constraints.
• Detail-oriented thinker who anticipates edge cases and failure modes.
• Exceptional communicator across engineering, product, and business stakeholders.

Salary
N900,000 - N1.2,000,000 / month.
