Job Position: Account Officer

Job Location: Lagos

Job Summary

• We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Account Officer to join our team.
• The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining accurate financial records.
• The ideal candidate should have strong analytical and problem-solving skills, a high level of accuracy, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate financial records, including accounts payable and receivable, journal entries, and general ledger
• Reconcile accounts, investigate and resolve discrepancies, and prepare reports on account status and transactions
• Assist with financial audits and provide support to auditors as required
• Maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and other business partners
• Manage and monitor cash flow, including processing payments, issuing invoices, and maintaining accurate records of transactions
• Prepare financial statements and reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
• Assist with budget preparation, forecasting, and analysis
• Ensure compliance with accounting and tax regulations
• Perform other accounting duties as required by the organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Up to 3 years of experience in accounting or a related field
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large amounts of data and identify trends and patterns
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and regulations
• Strong attention to detail with a high level of accuracy and the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial information
• Proficient in using accounting software, spreadsheets, and other financial tools
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external stakeholders
