Job Position: Deputy Head of Internal Audit

Job Location: Ikeja, Lagos
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

• The Deputy Head of Internal Audit reports to the Head of Department but has the utmost responsibility to be innovative and deliver all audit functions proactively.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate audit practices in the organization.
• Ensure that all audit systems and processes are in line with the group’s standards.
• To effectively carry out an independent examination of internal control and risk management systems.
• Promote and support a culture of compliance, risk avoidance/mitigation and corporate accountability in the organization.
• To carry out periodic reviews of all departmental activities within the organization in line with global office requirements and local regulations.
• Supervision of the field auditors’ assignments, as well as vetting of all field reports.

Requirements
The preferred candidate must have:

• A Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of Second-class Lower Division (2.2) in Finance or a related field.
• At least 3 years of Internal Audit experience with an independent mindset.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in an audit team especially within a microfinance bank is preferred.
• Professional qualifications - ACA, ACCA, CIA.
• A tech-savvy attitude, CISA certification will be an advantage.
