Job Position: Finance Associate

Job Location: Lagos

Requirements


  • BSc degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics
  • At least 1 year work experience as a Finance Assistant, Finance Officer or similar role
  • Familiarity with accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks, Xero, Wave etc.) is essential
  • At least intermediate level MS Excel skills (creating spreadsheets and using financial functions)
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
  • Able to manage, guide and lead employees to ensure appropriate financial processes are being used
  • Organizational and time-management skills
  • Attention to detail, with an ability to spot numerical errors

Responsibilities

  • Conduct reviews and evaluations for cost-reduction opportunities
  • Manage the preparation of the company’s budget
  • Correspond with various other departments, discussing organizations plans and agreeing on future paths to be taken
  • Participate in financial standards setting and in forecast process
  • Provide input into department’s goal setting process
  • Prepare financial statements and produce budget according to schedule
  • Update financial data in databases to ensure that information will be accurate and immediately available when needed
  • Prepare and submit monthly/quarterly/yearly, reports interpret information to leadership team while recommending further courses of action
  • Update financial software with daily transactions
  • Create cost analysis reports (fixed and variable costs)
  • Process tax payments
  • Support monthly payroll and keep organized records
  • Record accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Process invoices and follow up with clients, suppliers and partners as needed
  • Provide administrative support during budget preparation
  • Participate in quarterly and annual audits
