1.) Earthwork Supervisor

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Description


  • An Earthwork Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and directing the execution of earthmoving projects on construction sites.
  • This includes planning, organizing, and controlling the earthworks process to ensure it meets project specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Execution: Develop and manage the earthwork plan, ensuring it aligns with the overall project schedule and budget.
  • Supervision and Coordination: Direct and monitor the work of earthmoving crews, including excavators, loaders, and other heavy equipment operators.
  • Quality Control: Inspect earthwork operations to ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and safety regulations.
  • Safety Management: Ensure a safe work environment by implementing and enforcing safety procedures, conducting safety inspections, and training personnel.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of project activities, including progress reports, change orders, and safety inspections.
  • Problem Solving: Identify and address potential issues or delays, such as soil conditions, weather, or equipment malfunctions.

2.) Project Planner / Quantity Surveyor

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers
Employment Type: Full-time

Job Description

  • A Project Planner / Quantity Surveyor is a construction professional responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects.
  • The successful candidate will manage project costs, maintain/ develop schedules, negotiate /administer contracts, prepare tender, assess risk, report performance and ensure projects are completed within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare tender documents, including bills of quantities, and assist in the procurement process.
  • Negotiate contracts with contractors and subcontractors, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Identify and assess financial and contractual risks associated with projects.
  • Manage procurement processes, oversee payments to contractors and subcontractors, and ensure compliance with payment terms.
  • Analyze project costs and propose cost-saving measures without compromising project quality.
  • Assist in resolving contractual disputes and claims.
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates on project costs and progress.
  • Prepare financial reports, progress reports, and cost analyses.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
  • Accurately estimate the cost of materials, labor, and equipment for a project.
  • Develop and manage project budgets, track spending, and ensure projects stay within allocated funds.

Requirements

  • Interested candidates should possess a Bachelor of Science Degree with 7 years experience.
  • Sound knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations and standards.
  • Proficiency in cost estimation and cost management techniques.
  • Knowledge of service guidelines,
  • Familiarity with contract administration and legal aspects of construction projects.
  • Understanding general contracting, design-build, package contracting, value-based project and loading margins.
  • Experience working with AutoCAD and validating quantities from the given drawings.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and priorities tasks effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with extraordinary negotiation abilities.
  • Proficiency in relevant software and tools for quantity surveying.

Special Requirements:

  • Professional membership or certification in quantity surveying or construction management (e.g. NIQS)
  • Proficiency in technical skills (e.g. Planning Software, Advanced excel)
  • Experience working on various construction projects.
  • Experience with building information modelling (BIM) and quantity takeoff software.
  • Familiarity with contract law and construction contracts.
  • Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work under pressure.

3.) Project Manager

  • A Construction Project Manageroversees all aspects of building and renovation projects from initial planning to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to client specifications. 
  • He plans, executes, controls and closes out civil engineering projects to specification. He leads teams, manages budgets/ schedules, work programs, s curve and mitigates risks.

Responsibilities

  • Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement construction plans and schedules, working with architects, engineers, and other professionals.
  • Budget Management: Monitor and manage project budgets, ensuring projects stay within allocated funds.
  • Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources, including materials, equipment, and personnel.
  • Stakeholder Management: Coordinate with clients, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that construction work meets quality standards and complies with relevant regulations.
  • Safety Management: Implement and maintain safety protocols on the construction site to protect workers and others.
  • Progress Reporting: Track project progress and report on timelines, budget status, and any issues encountered.
  • Change Order Management: Handle changes to project plans and specifications, ensuring they are properly documented and managed.

Job Description

  • Project Engineer to be responsible for all engineering support, develop technical designs/specifications, oversee construction and ensure compliance. 
  • You will schedule, plan, forecast, resource and manage all the technical activities aiming at assuring project accuracy and quality from conception to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Project Planning and Scheduling: Developing and implementing detailed project plans, including scope and schedule
  • Budget Management: Monitoring project costs, tracking expenses, and ensuring adherence to the budget
  • Resource Management: Overseeing the allocation and utilization of resources, including labor, materials, and equipment
  • Quality Control: Ensuring that construction projects meet required quality standards and specifications.
  • Technical Support: Providing technical support to construction teams and contractors throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Safety Compliance: Monitoring adherence to safety regulations and building codes
  • Communication and Collaboration: Facilitating effective communication between stakeholders, including project managers, architects, contractors, and clients.
  • Progress Monitoring: Tracking project progress against the schedule, identifying potential delays, and implementing corrective actions.
