Job Position: General Manager (Finance & Administration)

Job Summary

  • The General Manager (Finance & Administration) will play a critical role in overseeing and managing the financial and administrative functions of our software company. Reporting directly to the executive management team, the General Manager will be responsible for providing strategic financial guidance, ensuring sound financial practices, and maintaining efficient administrative processes.

Responsibilities
Financial Management:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure effective financial management and support company growth.
  • Prepare and manage annual budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, analyzing variances and providing recommendations to senior management.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, financial risks, and investment opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to assess project profitability and financial viability.

Accounting and Reporting:

  • Oversee the accounting function, including general ledger management, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and tax compliance.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial statements, management reports, and statutory filings.
  • Conduct regular financial analysis and provide insights to drive informed decision-making.
  • Conduct financial modeling and cost analysis to optimize resource allocation and improve operational efficiency.
  • Liaise with auditors, tax authorities, and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Provide financial analysis, forecasts, and scenario planning to support strategic initiatives and business development opportunities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate investment proposals and assess their financial feasibility.

Administration and Operations:

  • Oversee administrative functions, including procurement, facilities management, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, legal requirements, and ethical standards.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
  • Foster a positive work environment and promote teamwork across departments.

Team Leadership:

  • Lead and mentor a team of finance and administrative professionals, providing guidance, performance feedback, and professional development opportunities.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the finance and administration department.

Qualifications and Skills

  • MBA Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience (8-10 years) in finance and administration management, preferably within the software industry.
  • ACCA qualification is mandatory.
  • Excellent leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, coupled with strategic thinking.
  • Strong understanding of financial planning, budgeting, accounting principles, and financial analysis.
  • In-depth knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and reporting requirements.
  • Proficient in financial software and ERP systems; familiarity with software development industry-specific tools is a plus.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
