Overview
- A reputable professional services firm is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager with a strong background in HR strategy execution.
- This role is ideal for a dynamic professional who is passionate about driving organizational change, developing people strategies, and aligning HR with business growth objectives.
- You will play a pivotal role in shaping the HR function, working closely with leadership to move the HR team beyond day-to-day operations into a more strategic and advisory space.
- The successful candidate will work closely with the executive team to align HR initiatives with business goals, implement robust performance and succession planning systems, and build a strong talent pipeline for the organization’s continued growth.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic HR Planning and Business Partnering:
- Collaborate with leadership to assess business goals and develop HR strategies that align with organizational priorities.
- Lead strategic workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational development initiatives.
- Identify critical roles and skills, assess talent readiness, and drive plans for bench strength and long-term capability development.
Talent Acquisition and Management:
- Oversee full-cycle recruitment in partnership with hiring managers to attract and retain high-quality candidates.
- Develop and improve onboarding and integration programs to ensure new hires transition smoothly and become productive quickly.
- Partner with leaders to identify high-potential talent and implement career pathing strategies.
Performance and Development:
- Design and lead the performance management cycle, including KPIs, goal setting, feedback, reviews, and performance improvement plans.
- Coach managers to drive a culture of accountability, continuous feedback, and employee development.
- Curate learning and development initiatives to support skills growth and future leadership needs.
Employee Engagement and Retention:
- Design and implement strategies to drive employee engagement, motivation, and long-term retention.
- Conduct stay interviews and exit analysis to identify drivers of turnover and areas for improvement.
- Build a positive employee experience, informed by engagement surveys and regular feedback loops.
Compensation and Rewards:
- Work with leadership to maintain competitive, equitable, and performance-based compensation structures.
- Implement incentive programs that drive a high-performance culture.
Employee Relations and Culture
- Provide expert advice on complex employee relations issues while ensuring fair, consistent, and legally compliant practices.
- Champion a culture of respect, collaboration, and inclusion.
- Manage internal investigations and employee grievances with discretion and professionalism.
Change Management and HR Governance
- Support organizational change efforts through communication, planning, and execution.
- Ensure all HR policies and practices are updated, communicated, and aligned with labor laws and industry best practices.
HR Analytics and KPIs:
- Leverage HR metrics and analytics to inform decisions and influence leadership.
Monitor and report on key KPIs, including:
- Employee retention rate
- Time-to-fill vacancies and quality of hires
- Performance improvement outcomes
- Internal promotion rate
- Engagement scores
- Succession coverage for critical roles
- Learning and development initiatives and ROI
Who We’re Looking For
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., CIPM, SHRM, HRCI) is a strong advantage.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 3 in a strategic HR leadership or consulting role.
- Proven experience developing and executing HR strategies that drive business outcomes.
- Strong background in performance management, talent development, and succession planning.
- Familiarity with the Balanced Scorecard performance management framework is an added advantage.
- Deep understanding of Nigerian labor law and HR compliance requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
- High proficiency in HRIS tools, analytics, and reporting.
- Ability to operate with discretion in a confidential transition environment.
