9mobile is a Nigerian private limited liability company. EMTS acquired a Unified Access Service License from the Nigerian Communications Commission in 2007. The License enables EMTS provide Fixed Telephony (wired or wireless), Digital Mobile Services, International Gateway Services and National/Regional Long Distance Services in addition to spectrum assignments in the 900 and 1800 MHz bands.

We are recruiting to fill the following positions below:

1.) IT Security & Information Risk Management Specialist

Job Summary


  • Has responsibility for the management of IT-related internal audit findings to closure and supporting the Manager, IT Risk in identifying and managing IT and Privacy risks whilst ensuring compliance with regulations, policies and processes.

Principal Functions

  • Proactively track remediation of IT Security audit findings for prompt closure
  • Act as the day-to-day primary contact for EMTS Internal Auditors within the IT Department
  • Provide day-to-day support in the operational and compliance monitoring on Data Privacy and Protection across the enterprise.
  • Conduct regular reviews of EMTS staff and key IT vendors' compliance with IT Security policies and processes to detect and remediate non-compliance.
  • Works with IS/IT teams and internal and external Auditors, tracking and following up all IS/IT audits, internal review or regulatory findings as corrective & preventative actions through the management systems
  • Monitors and reports on progress and status of corrective & preventative actions in the management system to address compliance gaps.
  • Support the investigation and reporting on compliance breaches, document and track agreed remedial actions and ensure corrective actions are documented and tracked.
  • Provide support with regards to IT Security controls during the design phase of a new product and the redesign of existing products, processes and systems.
  • Support Manager, IT Risk in documenting, analyzing, and assessing IT related risk and controls, testing the effectiveness of controls, and identifying issues that require management's attention.
  • Support the conduct and administration of cybersecurity awareness and education program
  • Carry out other activities as directed by the Manager, IT Risk Management and Head, Information Risk Management.

Educational Requirements

  • First Degree in numerate, Technology or Sciences (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics)

Experience,Skills & Competencies:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience in a combination of risk management, compliance, information security and IS/IT jobs
  • Industry-related compliance, risk or security management certification is preferred (CRISC, CISM, CISSP)
  • Demonstrated ability to apply IS/IT-related knowledge and experience in solving compliance issues
  • Experience with ISMS (ISO 27001 &27005) implementation and certification

2.) Legal Services Manager (Contracts and Advisory)

Job Summary        

  • Serves as a point of legal advice on local and international commercial contracts.
  • Liaises with relevant departments and divisions to draft, review and or interpret contractual agreements, ensure that contracts entered by EMTS are consistent with corporate and governmental laws, rules and regulations

Principal Functions
Tactical:

  • Advise EMTS on legal matters relating to corporate and project finance contracts and assist departments in the closure of financial transactions to the best interest of EMTS. 
  • Keep abreast of global and local best practice as it relates to the unit's activities. 
  • Continuously assist in reviewing the unit/team's activities, make recommendations for improvement and implement approved initiatives to ensure enhanced performance of the team. 
  • Assist in identifying required resources, personnel and funding to achieve the unit/function's strategy. 
  • Establish and maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. 

Operational:

  • Liaise with individual departments& divisions and provide advice on legal issues arising from contracts. 
  • Review and vet contracts and legal agreements including memoranda of understanding (MoUs) or agreement (MoAs),letters of intent and other related documents. 
  • Research and proffer opinion on any legal inquiries or issues of a contractual nature arising out of the interpretation and application of contracts and agreements. 
  • Ensure that terms and conditions set out in contractual documentation are legally valid, consistent with EMTS's policies, rules and regulations, and are in the organization's best interest. 
  • Coordinate with tender committees and concerned departments/divisions in drafting and finalizing tender documentation. Provide legal assistance to tender committees in tender amendment, tender process management, contract negotiation and finalization.  
  • Provide assistance in litigation by or against contractors or other parties arising out of contracts, agreements, or similar documentation. 
  • Ensure the setup and maintenance of a database of all contractual documents and related legal documentation. 
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members and manage subordinates' performance towards the achievement of overall team objectives. 
  • Ensure adequate training and development is delivered to employees in the Contract and Tender review and management processes. 
  • Monitor and control the budgetary needs of the unit/function. 
  • Ensure safe custody of all tenders and contracts. 
  • Assist in implementing the unit's work programs and plans in line with agreed upon procedures and guidelines. 
  • Assist in planning and managing the human and material resources of the unit to optimize performance, morale and enhance productivity. 
  • Manage inter-functional relations to ensure synergy across the various departmental functions. 
  • Prepare/compile agreed periodic activity and performance reports for the attention of the Head, Legal &Company Secretariat Services 
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by the Head, Legal & Company Secretariat Services

Educational Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess a First Degree in Law. 
  • Minimum of Six (6) years of relevant work experience with at least three(3)years in a supervisory role.
  • Postgraduate/professional qualification in a related field will be an added advantage.

3.) IT Business Continuity Management Specialist

Job Summary        

  • Support the IT BCM Manager in developing Risk Assessment (RA), Business Impact Analysis (BIA) and Business Recovery Plans (BRP) for all EMTS business processes from IT standpoint and follow through for the mitigation of identified Risk.

Principal Functions
Tactical:

  • Collaborate with Manager IT BCM in the Business Continuity/Contingency planning efforts within the IT function with a major focus on assuring the adequacy of contingency plans for critical business applications to maintain continued operations, asset protection and loss mitigation in the event of a disruption.
  • Provide as-required follow-up support to ensure timely and quality completion of RA, BIA and BRPs. Understand the practical and strategic role of implemented BCM tools and integrating them into the processes used to develop RA, BIA and BRPs.
  • Develop, plan and coordinate all details regarding the periodic execution of business continuity exercises. This involves direct dealing with the business process owners and recovery team members. Specific activities include developing exercise scenarios, facilitating the sessions, documenting exercise results and conducting after-action reviews and preparing exercise management summary reports for ITBCM Manager and Risk Management leadership.
  • Support process to ensure all post-exercise BRP changes are properly incorporated into plans and performing quality audits/reviews to determine plan completeness.
  • Manage BCM tools.  Develop and maintain required end-user support materials.  Ensure quality of master and Meta data in all systems.
  • Develop, plan and coordinate all details regarding the periodic execution of business continuity exercises. This involves direct dealing with the business process owners and recovery team members.
  • Specific activities include developing exercise scenarios, facilitating the sessions, documenting exercise results and conducting after-action reviews and preparing exercise management summary reports for ITBCM Manager and Risk Management leadership.
  • Engage resolver team with business continuity issues and mitigations regularly and consistently within the IT team, IT Vendors and other cross-functional teams across EMTS.  Constantly review and update the recovery objectives for solutions in line with business requirements.
  • Responsible for reviewing and setting controls in place over electronic access to data, business process information and plans.
  • Assess, develop and deliver needed training on BCM methodology, programs and tools.
  • Also responsible for ongoing maintenance /updates of curriculum, as well as creation and maintenance of supporting materials.
  • Periodically performing an assessment of organizational training needs and propose training recommendations to the BCM lead.

Operational:

  • Manage process to ensure all post-exercise BRP changes are properly incorporated into plans and performing quality audits/reviews to determine plan completeness.
  • Coordinate stakeholder participation in IT disaster recovery planning and work with the IT BCM Manager and Head, IT Risk Management to prioritize the recovery of critical IT systems.
  • Participate in the execution of regular business impact assessments, training, tests and exercises and technical assessments.
  • Collaborate with related stakeholders in an event of a disaster towards providing complementary service while total service restoration is ongoing.
  • Follow up with stakeholders to ensure IT disaster recovery plans and all associated activities are executed timely asper roadmap.
  • Oversee and coordinate all technical activities, the activities of BCM team and ensure all transaction and administrative documentation is recorded and available for business use.
  • Oversee and manage BCM tools.  Develop and maintain required end-user support materials.  Ensure quality of master and Meta data in all systems. Responsible for reviewing and setting controls in place over electronic access to data, business process information and plans.
  • Coordinate the day-to-day IT Business continuity management team and ensure resolution (including any referral or escalation as may be necessary) of IT disaster recovery issues which arise in connection with other business units.
  • Manage IT disaster recovery program(DRP) resources and provide support to IT disaster recovery audits.
  • Collaborate with Manager in executing the procedures necessary to support or reconstitute essential business functions after a catastrophic event.
  • Monitor regular data backups; secure data archives; backup restoration; secure on and off-site storage of backup media, provision of alternative IT processing facilities, networks etc and escalate any non-conformity to manager for proper follow and closure of identified gap.
  • Support IT BCM Managers in evaluating the overall IT disaster recovery program and state of readiness of IT in relation to Disaster Recovery.
  • Follow up with BCM manager to ensure implementation of the IT Strategy and Plans within the operations that implement and enforce IT disaster recovery best practices.
  • Coach and train BCM personnel to ensure understanding of the objectives and goals of the department, awareness of set targets/requirements and increase product knowledge, as well as identify developmental opportunities for team members.
  • Evaluate BCM program and identify improvement opportunities.  Develop and present business proposals to BCM Lead to articulate opportunities, benefits and risks to organization, as well as provide and implement options and plans to stakeholders.
  • Ensure defined IT disaster recovery plans, policies and procedures are followed by all stakeholders. 
  • Follow up with functional stakeholders towards managing Business Continuity through enforcing standards document management for requirements, analysis, design, implementation and operations documents, within IT.
  • Support leverage of BCM's relationship with key suppliers in order to obtain maximum legitimate utility for EMTS, including day-to-day communications and project management. 
  • Actively participate in IT disaster recovery plan service culture and lead IT BCM discussions at the IT Risk Council
  • Ensure periodic reviews and tests of established business continuity plans and procedures, reporting findings to management and make recommendations for improvements as needed.

In the event of a severe/catastrophic incident:

  • Support the assessment of the impact of the incident on business
  • Actively participate in the mobilization of IT disaster recovery team to the alternative, business recovery site
  • Coordinate the IT disaster recovery inline with the activities defined in the IT disaster recovery management checklist.
  • Ensure that information (e.g. backup tapes) are made available in the alternative data centre Implement the operational response to an incident
  • Communicate with and take direction from the line manager and Crisis Management Team in emergency / recovery situations
  • Carry out other activities as instructed by the IT BCM Manager and Head, Information Risk Management.

Educational Requirements        

  • First Degree in numerate, Technology or  Sciences (Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics)

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

  • Knowledge and experience in implementing globally accepted IT risk, control and BCM standards desired.
  • Postgraduate/ professional qualification in a related field and/or demonstrable experience in BCM will bean added advantage.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant work experience (preferably in tele-communication).
  • Experience in Telecommunications Business Process Analysis
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrable ability to work productively and stay calm under pressure
  • Other Solutions Life Cycle certifications in IT or Telecoms best practices such as Microsoft Solutions Framework (MSF), Microsoft Operations Framework (MOF), ISO 22301 2019 BCM, IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), ISO 20000, IT Governance, IT Audit, IT Architecture are optional and of advantage;

4.) IT Security Operations Specialist

Job Summary

  • Analyze EMTS information security operations environment and recommend security measures to safeguard valuable enterprise information assets.
  • The role will work in close partnership with the security teams within supplier organizations, Infrastructure Operations, Network Operations and Applications teams to provide a view into the security posture of 9mobile through comprehensive security reports.
  • This individual will also ensure compliance to EMTS security policies, processes and procedures.

Principal Functions
Operational:

  • Work with IT partners to ensure that 9mobile is protected from security threats and vulnerabilities by ensuring that all security management and monitoring platforms are performing optimally.
  • Drive the remediation effort to closeout all audit exceptions raised by Internal Audit during any IT security audit exercises.
  • Assess and validate information security provisions in new application developments or projects, ensuring controls are in line with corporate guidelines
  • Participate in the development of information security processes and ensure that security controls and procedures in agreed service-level agreements (SLAs) are managed and maintained.
  • Assist in defining security configuration baselines, drafting IT security policies and security operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host-based security systems.
  • Collaborate with EMTS business units and other risk management/assurance functions to identify security requirements/security risks associated with ongoing/new projects. Implement these strategies and plans to meet these requirements and plans to mitigate identified risks throughout the project life cycles.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments to identify control weaknesses, assess the effectiveness of existing controls and recommend remedial action to curtail identified weaknesses
  • Responsible for the implementation of Information Security Education/Awareness strategy and the propagation of the same among all staff of 9mobile using existing communication channels or proposing new ones
  • Manage technical assessments of the major information security subsystems in accordance with established policy and best practice guidelines, checking for compliance with the systems, policies, and procedures and driving remediation where non-compliance exists.
  • Investigate computer security incidents, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Coordinate security investigations, forensic investigations and compliance reviews as requested by internal or external auditors.
  • Provide support in implementing new or updated information security technologies.
  • Research and assess new threats and security alerts and recommends remedial action.
  • Carry out other duties as instructed by the Manager, Security Operations and Head, Information Risk Management

Educational Qualification

  • First Degree or equivalent in Electrical / Electronic or Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science or Engineering or Numerate discipline.

Experience, Skills & Competencies:

  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of work experience with at least 3 years experience in at least two IT disciplines, including technical infrastructure, application development, middleware, database management, and operations.
  • Good understanding of Information Security standards e.g. ISO27001.
  • Relevant Enterprise Information Security and Architecture Certifications are required e.g. CISA, CISSP, CCNA, CCSP, ITIL, COBIT etc.
  • Experience in computer forensics, information warfare, cybercrime, etc. is desirable.
  • Experience in Project Management and Business Process management is an added advantage.
