Job Description


  • Are you an accomplished Mechanical Engineer with a strong track record in the cement industry? Dangote Cement Plc. is seeking a Manager, Mechanical to lead the maintenance and operational reliability of our mechanical systems across the plant.
  • In this leadership role, you will oversee the performance, maintenance, and continuous improvement of key mechanical assets—including crushers, mills, conveyors, and kilns.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the mechanical maintenance team to ensure optimal performance and reliability of plant equipment.
  • Oversee maintenance, inspection, and repair activities for critical mechanical systems such as crushers, kilns, mills, and conveyors.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs to ensure consistent operational performance.
  • Analyze equipment performance data, identify root causes of failures, and implement corrective and improvement actions.
  • Coordinate mechanical maintenance during plant shutdowns and major overhauls.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, health, and environmental regulations in all maintenance operations.
  • Manage spare parts inventory, maintenance budgets, and resource allocation for mechanical activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technicians to strengthen team capability and performance.

Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. or HND in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 18 years of relevant experience in mechanical maintenance and operations within the cement or heavy process industry.
  • Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role with strong team coordination and decision-making skills.
  • Deep technical understanding of mechanical systems and processes in cement production.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage complex maintenance challenges.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Sound knowledge of HSE regulations, reliability engineering, and maintenance best practices.
